The Fine Print

So you’d like a custom Namesake fragrance? It’s clear you have good taste.

Currently, I am only accepting patrons in the United States. This is due to shipping complications for flammable goods, such as alcohol-based perfume.

We will begin the process with a discussion about your cherished scent memories, current tastes, and how you aspire to represent yourself. People have described the interview process as “nostalgic”, “affirming”, and “cathartic”. It will be the spark that brings your fragrance to life. The conversation can happen via phone, video call, or if you reside in Seattle, in person.

As a caveat, the point is not to replicate exact smells, but to design a composition that roots you in fond memories and resonates some aspect of who you are.

Construction time will vary depending on the research required and if I need make a special order for materials. Plan on 2 - 6 weeks. I am more than happy to conduct a reasonable amount of research, but am unable to, say, fly to the Tuscan hillside trattoria to sample your favorite cavallucci.

Once a prototype is complete, I'll send you a sample to test for several days. We will have another conversation where you will have the opportunity to give honest feedback. If necessary, I'll make any final adjustments. For reference, most people are enthusiastic with their fragrance after the first attempt, and may or may not suggest minor adjustments. After this second design round, additional rounds will cost $150.

You will then be shipped a 50 ML bottle of your custom scent.

The formula will remain secret and property of Namesake. I will share a list of the notes that make up your composition.

Additionally, a limited run of your fragrance may become available to the public in the Limited Edition collection, along with the story that inspired it. If you wish for the fragrance to be exclusively available to you and not general public, an exclusivity fee of $200 will be issued.

You will continue to have unlimited access to purchasing your fragrance for $100 for 50 ML and $25 of 8 ML, as long as Namesake exists.
